An important design detail of the SSM-500-30M mini-plant is that it is equipped with a pulley-belt, gear drive based on a cylindrical two-stage gearbox. This makes the mini-plant more durable and reliable, since such a drive design provides two-level protection of the gearbox when the shaft is jammed:
